SYSTEMA is a consortium of independent structures that convenes annually in Marseille. It brings together a community of art workers and affiliated practices operating within a shared landscape, yet often remaining fragmented or isolated.
Each edition incorporates new members into the assembly, allowing the network to expand and reconfigure over time. The initiative aims to consolidate experimental and artistic approaches to curatorial practice within an increasingly fragile ecosystem, marked by the rising of operational costs alongside a decline in funding opportunities.
In this context, SYSTEMA asserts the necessity of collective presence: to gather, to exist visibly, and to engage and sensitize audiences and broader publics to these practices and their conditions of operation.
